Buddhist Economics of Compassion and Communion

Abstract

The current economic models which promote materialism, individualism and consumerism have led to a global crisis which requires a new economic paradigm. This paper contends that Buddhism contains within its doctrines a paradigm which is well equipped to provide a solution to this crisis, one based upon the Buddha’s middle path.
